Macclesfield Town manager Ian Brightwell has made the former Manchester City defender Richard Edghill his second signing since replacing Paul Ince at Moss Rose.
The 32-year-old has penned a one-year deal with the Silkmen and Brightwell is pleased with his arrival.
"I'm delighted to capture the signature of a player like Richard," he told Macc's official website.
"I played alongside him when he first arrived on the scene at Man City.
"It was clear from an early stage that he had what it took to make it in the game, he's naturally fit and a great trainer.
"It was no surprise to me that he's gone on to make over 250 appearances during his career. He's still got a lot to offer and I see him as a key signing and someone I know will make a big impression at the Moss Rose this season."
