Silkmen suffer skipper blow

Macclesfield Town defender James Jennings is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury.

Jennings limped out of Saturday's defeat at Gillingham and manager Keith Alexander fears the worst.

"We don't know for sure yet, but early indications are that JJ could be out for upwards of a month, possibly more," he told the club's official website.

"He certainly won't be playing any part this week which is a big loss especially if Sean Hessey has also failed to recover."

Meanwhile, the Silkmen are expected to tie up a deal to sign midfielder Sam Cutler from crisis-club Weymouth.

Cutler is one of several players poised to leave the Blue Square Premier side after receiving no wages this year.
