Silkmen snare Husbands

Macclesfield Town manager Ian Brightwell has made former Port Vale striker Michael Husbands his first signing since replacing Paul Ince in the Moss Rose hot-seat.
The 23-year-old was released at the end of last season after scoring six goals in 14 starts and 43 substitute appearances for Vale.
Husbands, who has penned a one-year deal with the Silkmen, told the club's official website: "I'm desperate for first-team football and the chance to show I have what it takes to succeed.
"I don't think there are many quicker players in this league and that, combined with my high work-rate, will hopefully allow me to start banging the goals in for Macclesfield this season.
"A scout at Port Vale recommended me to the gaffer, and after speaking to him on the phone, he really sold the Moss Rose to me.
"He painted a very rosy picture of a friendly club where everyone knows each other, but most importantly a team that wants to do well and be there and thereabouts come the end of the season.
"That's what I wanted to hear and, with other new forwards joining the club over the close season as well, it's an exciting time."
