Silkmen ponder Evans appeal

Macclesfield Town boss Keith Alexander has admitted that his club are likely to appeal against the red card shown to striker Gareth Evans in the 1-0 win at Bournemouth.
Evans was dismissed for elbowing Cherries veteran Darren Anderton just 17 minutes into the game, having earlier netted what proved to be the winning goal.
Alexander told the club's official website: "Gareth always gives 100 per cent and he's certainly not afraid to get stuck in. But the one thing he's not is a dirty player.
"So to be accused of elbowing their player is hard to take. I don't think anyone in the ground other than the referee saw anything malicious in the challenge.
"I was gobsmacked when he issued a straight red card.
"Clearly I will need to have a look at the video again, but at this stage it is my intention that we'll lodge an appeal as we'll be missing Gareth for three games if the card is allowed to stand."
