Silkmen make Wright move

Macclesfield Town have snapped up former Lincoln City striker Ben Wright on a one-year contract.

The 28-year-old was allowed to leave Sincil Bank at the end of the season and has quickly found himself a new home.

Macc boss Keith Alexander told the club's official website: "I'd been looking at Ben while he was at Lincoln and I'm pleased to have been able to bring him here to Macclesfield.

"He's a big, strong lad and is capable of holding the ball up, which is something you need in this division.

"He's the sort of player who will put defences under pressure and will lead the line for you.

"He's also capable of getting you 15 goals a season as well as bringing other attackers into play and creating chances for them.

"He's a good footballer who will help us create space to be able to play."
