    Silkmen fear for Jennings

    04 Mar 2009 - 13:51:53

Macclesfield Town midfielder James Jennings has been told he is unlikely to play again this season.

The 21-year-old, who has already spent a fortnight on the sidelines, has now been told he could face another nine weeks out of action.

Silkmen physio Nick Reid told the club's official website: "There were some anomalies on the original scan which required a second opinion.

"The specialist has confirmed that there's nothing untoward and it's a grade two medial lateral ligament injury.

"JJ is therefore looking at anywhere between six to nine weeks to recover.

"Given the end of the season is only eight-and-a-half weeks away, there's an outside chance he could be back, but at this stage it's more unlikely he will. But we certainly haven't given up hope.

"His leg will be immobilised for the next week and then it will be a case of building up the strength as the ligaments repair."
