Macclesfield Town manager Keith Alexander had few complaints after seeing his side beaten 2-0 at Stockport County.

A Jason Taylor double gave the Hatters the points and Alexander said his side had defended poorly to lose the game.

He said: "We were up against a very good team.

"We tried to battle, but on the day they were better than us and I don't mind admitting that.

"It's a disappointing result for us, of course, but we gave away two bad goals."

Not included in the Silkmen squad was goalkeeper Tommy Lee, who has moved on loan to League Two rivals Rochdale.
