Macclesfield Town's assistant manager Ray Mathias has backed his side to survive the drop from League Two after securing their first win of the season.
A late Jimmy McNulty goal gave Macc a 1-0 victory at Walsall in an FA Cup first round replay and Mathias wants Town to try and take that form into their battle to move away from the foot of the Football League.
He said: "It's a great boost for everyone at the club.
"Now we can go to Stockport on Saturday looking for a result and the three points we desperately need in the league.
"We believe we can survive. If we hadn't believed that, I'm sure Paul Ince would not have accepted the job.
"He has a massive appetite for the game."
