Macc seal Murphy deal

Macclesfield Town have signed Blackpool striker John Murphy on a permanent deal after the 30-year-old impressed during his initial loan spell at Moss Rose.

Murphy signed for the Silkmen in October and has scored five goals as Paul Ince's side have moved off the foot of the League Two table.

The forward started his career at Chester City and scored 20 goals in 103 League appearances for the club before moving to Blackpool in August 1999.

In a seven-year spell at Bloomfield Road, Murphy scored 83 goals in 252 games for the Seasiders.
