Macclesfield Town have confirmed the signing of winger Tyrone Kirk.

The former Middlesbrough and Manchester City player joins the League Two club after a spell with Stamford in the Unibond First Division.

Macclesfield beat Boston United to Kirk's signature, who jumped at the chance to play in the Football League after a trial at Moss Rose.

"We always want to have different attacking options and Tyrone offers us something different," manager Keith Alexander told Macc's official website.

"The lad has got a great deal of ability on the ball, can beat a man and can create you a chance out of very little.

"He's someone we liked the look of in his trial and in training so we're happy to have been able to bring him to the club."
