Ince takes on Macc job

Paul Ince has been confirmed as the new player-manager of League Two strugglers Macclesfield Town at a Monday afternoon press conference.

The 39-year-old former England international captain has agreed an initial 14-month contract at Moss Rose in what is to be his first experience in management.

Ince will not be able to play for the Silkmen until the January transfer window, because he has already moved in the past month, when he spent a short spell with League Two rivals Swindon Town in a player-coach capacity.
