Macclesfield Town striker Colin Heath did not break his leg in the defeat at Wycombe despite initial fears that he had suffered a serious injury.
The 23-year-old was stretchered off the Adams Park pitch but X-rays have shown that he suffered only bruising.
Heath has been released from hospital and is recuperating at home.
A brief statement on the Silkmen's official website read: "The club would also like to thank the Wycombe club doctor, Dr. Chris Tower, who travelled in the ambulance with Colin and continued to look after him at the hospital."
