Brightwell turns on Macc

Manager Ian Brightwell has admitted he is coming towards the end of his tether after Macclesfield Town slipped closer to the relegation mire with Tuesday's defeat to Lincoln City.

The Imps scored twice in the final nine minutes to claim a 2-1 victory at Moss Rose and afterwards Brightwell pulled no punches.

The Silkmen are now 20th in the League Two table and just three points clear of the drop zone.

"I'm sick of saying the same thing week in, week out," he fumed.

"We had 25 attempts on goal and we only scored one. It's simply not acceptable.

"Then we gifted them two simple goals through costly mistakes and they've put their chances away.

"I've told them just what I feel and they know what they've got to do, but I've also got to keep their confidence high."
