Alexander happy with Sappleton

Macclesfield Town boss Keith Alexander is delighted to have wrapped up a permanent deal for Leicester City striker Ricky Sappleton.

The 20-year-old has netted six times in 19 appearances while on loan at Moss Rose and has now signed a contract running until the end of next season with the Silkmen.

Alexander told the club's official website: "Ricky has come in on loan and done well for the club and we've got 18 months now to really work with him.

"He's already shown us that he can score a goal with six in only 12 starts. He's a big, strong lad, didn't have a pre-season and has had a couple of injuries with us.

"This is the first time he's played regular first-team football and at only 20 he already has a good scoring record for us, so I'm delighted with the signing."
