Tip-top victory for Macclesfield

Returning to the club for his third spell he scored his first goal of the season with a curling 25-yard drive after six minutes.[LNB]Tipton almost added another seconds later but his left-foot shot was well saved by Vale goalkeeper Chris Martin.[LNB]Port Vale offered precious little all evening with striker Doug Loft missing the only chance of the first half blazing the ball over the bar after 21 minutes.[LNB]The game was sealed midway through the second half when 20-year-old giant midfielder Hamza Bencherif rifled home a 20-yard volley after his first shot had crashed back to him off the crossbar.[LNB]Bencherif had clearly got a taste for goal raining in two further strikes in the dying stages that tested the Martin from long range. Marc Richards had a chance for the visitors late on when he sent a fizzing free kick inches past the upright.[LNB][LNB]
