Straight-talking Simpson fears the drop

Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson admits he is worried about relegation after his side's 4-2 defeat to Bury. Bury raced into a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Mike Jones, Ryan Lowe and Nicky Ajose before Ross Draper and Tyrone Barnett pulled goals back before half-time to narrow the deficit. Lowe added his second and Bury's fourth after 86 minutes to move the Shakers up to fourth in the table. Simpson said: "Of course we're worried, we are very worried. We can't seem to buy a goal at the moment. We contrived to give them a three-goal start and you can't give three goals away to any side. "It was a super-human effort to get back into the game and we certainly don't lack spirit. Then in the second half, we had one cleared off the line and the keeper made a tremendous double save. "Obviously, we've given too many goals away. We worked on our defence in the week, just trying to keep it solid, but we've given ourselves another mountain to climb. That's four at Southend we gave away and four in this game and it's just too easy for the opposition. "One or two of the lads have clearly lost form and confidence and we're just going to have to shuffle the pack. Obviously we're not one of the clubs with resources to go and buy our way out of trouble so we're going to have to do it with what we've got in the dressing room, but I'm confident that we've got more than enough."
