Simpson: We owe supporters

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson admits his side short-changed their fans during Saturday's FA Cup surrender at Huddersfield. The Silkmen were thumped 6-0 at the Galpharm Stadium and Simpson was at a loss to explain his side's woeful display. "The most disappointing aspect for me is that we short-changed the fans on Saturday," said Simpson. "The one thing you can normally guarantee with this team is that they'll put a shift in. But on Saturday we just weren't at the races. "We'd prepared well and stayed overnight. So there should have been no excuses."
