Simpson: We must take chances

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson bemoaned his side's profligacy following their 2-0 defeat to Stockport. The result leaves Macclesfield stranded in the bottom two and only separated from last position on goal difference. The Silkmen are without a win in the league this season and Simpson believes that a lack of composure in front of goal was to blame for the defeat. "They started off like a train and we had problems with their shape but we tightened up in midfield and they really didn't cause us too many problems," he said. "I don't know how we didn't score, we must have had 20 opportunities in the box. We went through on goal three, four, maybe five times and always put the ball wide. "At this level indeed, any level, you need composure, I suppose that's what finishing is all about. But I've got faith in these lads, they're decent lads but they've come from reserve team football and non-league football and they are still learning their trade."
