Simpson wants Macc momentum

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson has urged his side to maintain their winning momentum going into this weekend's home clash with Wycombe. The Silkmen ended a dismal 10-match winless streak when they beat Stockport 4-1 last Saturday and then followed that up with a 2-0 home win over Morecambe on Tuesday night. Simpson hopes the victories will kickstart his side's campaign as they gear up for the final third of the season. "We had a great win on Saturday and it was important that we followed that up with another three points," he said. "It puts a bit of daylight between us and the bottom two places and closer to our 50 point target. "That's four unbeaten now, and just one defeat in six, so there's some momentum there and it was important we kept that going."
