Simpson waits on Barnett

Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson is hoping striker Tyrone Barnett will be passed fit for Saturday's trip to Torquay after he was injured in training. Barnett took a blow to the ankle and and was taken straight to hospital in severe pain where an X-ray revealed no break. "We feared the worse if I am honest," said Simpson. "Luckily the X-ray revealed no break but we'll have to wait and see the full extent of the injury. "There was no swelling which was strange so we're hoping there's no lasting damage and he'll be in contention for Saturday's trip to Torquay."
