Simpson urges Silkmen to `knuckle down'

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson has urged his side to "knuckle down" as they bid to safeguard against the threat of relegation from npower League Two. The Silkmen are edging closer to safety and currently lie six points above the relegation zone with four matches remaining. However, they have not won in six games and Simpson is eager to end that unwanted sequence as soon as possible. He said: "It's weird how we've had runs like this when we can't seem to buy a win. "We went nine games earlier in the season and we're now up to six. "Clearly that's something we're conscious of as a group and we just need to knuckle down and work hard over the next couple of weeks."
