Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson will continue to assess trialists Jack Cudworth and Matt Hamshaw. Both players impressed during Tuesday's 5-0 pre-season friendly win at Newcastle Town, with midfielder Hamshaw scoring twice and goalkeeper Cudworth impressing between the posts. Simpson said: "I've asked them to come along to training later this week with a view to also looking at them again in the friendly on Saturday. "Matt didn't really play a lot of football last season at Notts County and I know he wants to get playing again." Meanwhile, the Silkmen have decided the ban the vuvuzela from the Moss Rose after consultation with supporters. Commercial and Operations manager Sally Brealey said: "After throwing it open to the public, the decision in favour of a ban came back with an almost 80% majority."
