Simpson thrilled after crushing win

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson was delighted his side ended their 10-game winless run with a convincing 4-1 win at Stockport. County took the lead through James Wallace before Izak Reid replied for the visitors. The second half was all one-way traffic, though, as Town scored three goals through Tyrone Barnett, a Paul Turnbull own goal and a Hamza Bencherif strike to claim the points. Simpson said: "It was a great result, but we got three points and that's the main thing because they are one of the teams down there with us. "It's great for the fans. I'm so happy for the fans because they haven't had much to cheer about recently. And I'm pleased for the players, the chairman and the vice chairman because they've been superb. "This run that we've been on has been a long time ending. We've been playing pretty well and not getting the results. We didn't play as well but we got a great result."
