Simpson takes extra precautions with Silkmen

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson believes giving his players a couple of days rest will help them recover from various bumps and bruises ahead of Saturday`s trip to Barnet. The Silkmen came from two goals down at half-time to beat Oxford 3-2 last weekend thanks to a brace from Paul Bolland and a strike from Matt Hamshaw. And Simpson has responded to the success by giving his men Monday and Tuesday off. He said: "I would have probably given them a day off anyway after their win on Saturday. "But with the number of injuries and knocks we are carrying it just made sense to tell them to stay at home. "Hopefully the extra bit of rest will allow them a bit more time to recover and they'll come back fully refreshed on Wednesday as we start to prepare for our trip to Barnet at the weekend."
