Simpson relishing Spireites challenge
Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson believes his players can thrive on the atmosphere when they face Chesterfield at an expectant B2net Stadium on Saturday.
The Silkmen lie six points above the relegation zone and Simpson feels they need at least one more victory to safeguard against the drop.
A tough task awaits them this weekend against the table-topping Spireites, who are looking to secure automatic promotion.
Simpson said: "They're not top of the table for nothing and depending on results elsewhere, they'll be looking to secure promotion if they can beat us.
"So it's sure to be a good atmosphere and one I am sure the players will thrive on.
"No-one expects us to get anything so to some extent the pressure is on them and that's something we can hopefully use to our advantage."
