Simpson ready to wheel and deal

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson remains keen to bolster his squad next month, but will not put the club's financial health at risk. The Silkmen operate with one of the smallest budgets in the Football League and Simpson is keen for them to continue to cut their cloth accordingly. "The club quite rightly needs to balance its books," he said. "There are too many tales of clubs spending what they can't afford to have. "That simply won't be allowed to happen here at the Moss Rose, but at the same time I would love to be able to strengthen the squad next month. "There's also a lot to be said for freshening the place up, and new players can help you do that."
