Simpson: Point was fair result

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson admitted the 1-1 draw with Rotherham was a fair result. Tyrone Barnett looked to have earned the Silkmen a shock victory when he netted in the 84th minute, but the Millers claimed a share of the spoils as Adam Le Fondre equalised a minute later. "It feels a bit like a loss when you get the first goal," Simpson said. "But to be honest a draw was probably a fair result. We worked hard and battled for each other and we put a shift in. "They had more possession than us but they didn't open us up and I thought we defended terrifically and we were unlucky with the goal. "We tried to keep it tight after we scored but we didn't have time because they equalised within 45 seconds, but overall I am pleased for the lads."
