Simpson looks to the future

Manager Gary Simpson has already started planning for next season after Macclesfield campaign ended with a 1-1 draw against Hereford. Ryan Green put the Bulls ahead in the 19th minute, but the game turned on its head just after half-time when Michael Townsend felled Matty Hamshaw in the area. Townsend saw red for the challenge and Lewis Chalmers converted the resulting spot-kick to ensure Simpson's side a share of the spoils. "It's a season that's had a bit of everything. We played well at times, we played badly at times and we've been unlucky at times," he said. "It would have been a travesty if we'd lost especially after our second-half showing. Their keeper has had an absolute blinder. "We now need to hold onto the players that we can hold onto and sign one or two more but it's going to be tougher next season."
