Simpson keen to strengthen

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson is hoping to bolster his squad with "one or two new faces". The Silkmen are still coming to terms with the sudden death of midfielder Richard Butcher, 29, last Monday. While Simpson admits Butcher's loss will be keenly felt, he says a new defender and striker are top of his wish-list. "We are certainly looking to bring in at least one or two new faces," said Simpson. "Clearly the events of last Monday made it very difficult to focus on that but I am hopeful we might be able to see some movement this week, failing that next. "Ideally I would like to bring in one more defender and of course a goalscorer."
