Simpson hails Silkmen`s spirit

Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson hailed his side's spirit after they produced a breathtaking second-half fightback to beat Oxford 3-2. The Us took the lead through James Constable before Tom Craddock doubled that advantage in first-half injury-time. However, Paul Bolland fired home, Matty Hamshaw levelled and Bolland's second of the game sealed the comeback win. Simpson revealed alterations at half-time had been essential. He said: "We had to change things around at half-time because quite frankly we could have been five or six goals down. We were getting taken apart down the right-hand side and we need to tighten up in the box. "We gave away a silly goal but to be fair their second goal did look offside. We are six first-team players down, they are really big players for us, and with Hamza Bencherif out as well that really does bring us down to the bare bones. "I've said all along that we just want 50 points. Whether it comes at the end of the season or hopefully by February or March and we'll have a look at what we can do then."
