Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson was livid with the decision not to award his side a penalty as they crashed to defeat at home to Rotherham. Striker Tyrone Barnett appeared to be impeded inside the penalty area but no deicision was forthcoming to leave the Silkmen without a win over Christmas. Simpson said: "Really we should have had nine points from our last three games and we've only got one. "How the referee didn't give a penalty when Tyrone Barnett was tripped by Tom Newey I just don't know. It should have been a penalty and a sending off but for me the referee bottled it. "I told them at half-time they would have to see what the assessor thought when he looks at the DVD because games hinge on decisions like that. "We knew when we got these players we had a good lot but what costs you money is someone who will put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis and obviously we just haven't got those resources. But I can tell you one thing - we're getting the very best out of what we've got."
