Simpson explains Alexander absense

Alexander, who suffered a brain aneurysm in November 2003, underwent a scan at Macclesfield District General Hospital after feeling unwell prior to the 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth. However, he was later given the all-clear and allowed to return to his home in Lincoln. Simpson, who was Alexander's right-hand man at Lincoln when he was forced to take six months out of the game, explained: "Keith wasn't feeling well at all on Friday night and in fact he collapsed and was vomiting. "He struggled through the night but made it to the ground. But when he felt unwell again, due to his history, the doctor advised him to go to hospital. "You can't play it too safe. He's a big man and though you might say he shouldn't have come at all, he wants to be at the game."
