Simpson dismisses Imps talk

Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson ruled himself out of contention for the Lincoln job in the wake of his side's 2-1 defeat to the Imps. Lincoln took the lead just before half time as Moses Swaibu's header ended their 464-minute wait for a goal, before Hamza Bencherif restored parity just after the interval. However, Jamie Clapham's wonder strike secured the three points midway through the second period, much to the delight Simpson's dismay. "I am quite happy where I am at Macclesfield," he said. "I love Macclesfield, and we are only 25% through the job we want to do. I know it is difficult but these lads will only get better - I have still got a job to do here, and I haven't really thought about Lincoln. " He added: "I thought we created plenty of chances, but we were a bit tentative to begin with. Hamza had to go to the back, and we went back to 4-4-2 in the second half. "Hamza has got a knack of scoring a goal, and I think at League Two level he can play in midfield, but if he goes higher up I think he will be playing at centre-back."
