Silkmen chairman bemoans season
Keith Alexander's men staved off the threat of relegation from League Two but failed to build on their strong finish to last season and look set for a lowly finish in the table.
Rance said: "Obviously it's massively important that we've retained our League status but that really is the lowest common denominator.
"I'd have to say that it's been very disappointing overall.
"We went into it with some confidence after finishing the previous campaign so strongly but we really haven't delivered."
