And the former Lincoln manager also believes his side could reap the benefits from a strong finish to the current campaign. He told the club's official website: "I know in my own mind those players we want to keep at the club in the summer and those we'll be looking to bring in. "The intention is to go into next year with a much smaller squad but at the same time looking for our new crop of younger players to stake their claim. "If we can get that balance right we give ourselves every chance of mounting a realistic challenge in the top half of the table. "So I am excited about the prospects for next season. And a strong finish to this season would be the perfect way to begin our preparations."
