Scott issues rallying call

Macclesfield vice-chairman Andy Scott has urged supporters to get behind the club following their dismal start to the npower League Two season. The Silkmen have collected a solitary point from their opening three matches and last weekend`s 3-0 defeat at Accrington saw the visiting supporters make their displeasure known. Now Scott is looking for an improved display at home to Chesterfield on Saturday as Gary Simpson`s men bid to kick-start their campaign. "Like all supporters I wasn't at all happy with the defeat at Accrington," said Scott. "But we've seen enough from this group of players in other games to be confident that the Accrington match was the exception rather than the rule. "We had a lot of young lads and players just making their way in the professional game on show and we need to get behind them to help them fulfil their potential."
