Rooney off to Seattle
Macclesfield striker John Rooney has joined Major League Soccer outfit Seattle Sounders on trial.
The 19-year-old, who trained with Huddersfield during the summer with a view to a move that never materialised, will spend one week with the American club.
Sounders manager Sigi Schmid said: "We want to see where he's at and what he's like as a player."
Rooney was offered a new contract by the Silkmen this summer and last season had a trial at Championship side Derby but was not offered a deal.
