On-loan striker puts team first

The rookie Leicester forward has joined the Silkmen on loan until the end of December and illustrated his quality with a well-taken equaliser at Gresty Road on Saturday. However, a late strike from Joel Grant handed Crewe a 2-1 win and left Sappleton bitterly disappointed. He told the club's official website: "It was great to get my first goal, but it didn't really mean that much as we ended up losing the game. "As a striker, particularly when you arrive at a new club, you are looking to get off the mark as quickly as possible. "So to do it in my second game was great but to be honest I would have gladly swapped that for at least a point from the game."
