Macclesfield 3-3 Torquay: Match Report

Branston steals point for Gulls Torquay grabbed an injury-time equaliser to maintain their push for the play-offs in a 3-3 draw at Macclesfield. Tailing throughout the game big centre-half Guy Branston headed home a long throw from centre-half partner Chris Robertson to beat Jose Veiga in the 91st minute. Macclesfield had dominated the first half taking the lead in the 29th minute when Tyrone Barnett headed back across goal for his 11th of the season. They doubled the lead in the 34th minute when Hamza Bencherif picked out Colin Daniel who converted with a 15-yard drive. Torquay got back into the game in the 54th minute when Jake Robinson found the far corner from 12 yards. But Macclesfield extended their lead when Bencherif sent a bullet header inside the near post. Torquay drew closer in the 74th minute when Daniel handled the ball inches inside the box allowing Robinson to convert from the spot. They seemed to be holding out for a win when Branston got the equalising header with seconds running down.
