Alexander, who suffered a brain aneurysm in November 2003, underwent a scan at Macclesfield District General Hospital after feeling unwell prior to Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth. However, he was later given the all-clear and allowed to return to his home in Lincoln. Nelson said: "Taking Keith to the hospital was purely a precautionary measure but with his medical history then we didn't want to take any risks. "A couple of other members of staff exhibited similar symptoms to Keith over the weekend as well, so it looks like it was a minor bug, possibly even food poisoning. "Keith is currently at home recovering and will be back at work after a couple of days' rest."
