Macc boss: Rooney in demand

Rooney, the 18-year-old brother of Manchester United and England star Wayne, has impressed during his time at Moss Rose following his release from Everton in 2007 and has attracted the interest of some top clubs.[LNB]"John is probably the best footballer at this club," Alexander told the Manchester Evening News.[LNB]"He can consider himself unlucky to have been out of the team on Saturday (Rooney was an unused substitute at Morecambe) and I'm not surprised people from clubs higher up are watching him."[LNB]Meanwhile, Alexander is still on the look-out for a new striker as he continues in his bid to improve the playing staff.[LNB]"We've been trying for the last few days to bring someone in who got a lot of goals for his club last season, but it might be out of the question due to the sums of money in wages we're talking about."[LNB][LNB]
