Lindfield set for Silkmen bow
The former Liverpool trainee joined the Silkmen on a short-term deal prior to the Boxing Day clash with Shrewsbury, but did not receive the necessary clearance to feature in that game.[LNB]Manager Keith Alexander told his club's official website: "We had some problems with the paperwork. The people at the club were in and got his signature on Christmas Eve, we got the full approval of the Football League and Football Association but because his last club was Liverpool, the League also needed to get clearance from the Premier League.[LNB]"But the Premier League people went home for Christmas early so they couldn't get the fax through. Hopefully we'll have it sorted from them for the Crewe game."[LNB]Emile Sinclair is rated doubtful after limping out of the 2-2 draw against the Shrews with a knock, but fellow striker Ben Wright should continue after shaking off a back injury to play the full 90 minutes at the Prostar Stadium.[LNB]Midfielder Lee Bell replaced Sinclair last time out and will hope for more game time following his recent knee injury. Hamza Bencherif remains a long-term absentee with a fractured ankle.[LNB]Meanwhile, Alexander claimed "poor officials have cost us the game" after Saturday's result at Shrewsbury.[LNB]Nat Brown and Colin Daniel netted for the Silkmen, who also saw Carl Tremarco miss a penalty, while Waide Fairhurst and Dave Hibbert were on target for the hosts.[LNB]But Alexander was furious with the decision not to allow Wright's goal 10 minutes from time that appeared comfortably to have crossed the line, only for goalkeeper David Button to scoop the ball out and away for a corner.[LNB]"The linesman was in the wrong position," said Alexander. "Everyone knew and saw it was a goal but at the end of the day we've missed a penalty and allowed them to put across into the box in injury time for their equaliser, so to a certain extent we've got ourselves to blame.[LNB]"But I am delighted with our performance from start to finish.[LNB]"Goalline technology? We can't afford it in this league we just want the officials to do their jobs properly."[LNB][LNB]
