Hamshaw shines as Macc cruise
On-trial midfielder Matt Hamshaw struck twice as Macclesfield romped to a 5-0 win at Newcastle Town.
Summer signing Tyrone Barnett opened the scoring after 14 minutes when he headed home Hamshaw's corner before Colin Daniel latched onto a through-ball from Izak Reid and rounded the goalkeeper to double the Silkmen's advantage just before half-time.
Substitute Vinny Mukendi extended the lead within three minutes of the restart with a sweetly-struck shot from the edge of the box. Hamshaw then stole the show and boosted his chances of earning a contract at Moss Rose with goals after 63 and 78 minutes.
