Macclesfield defender Tony Diagne has signed a contract extension to tie him to the club until the end of next season. The former Nottingham Forest player initially joined the Silkmen until the end of the current campaign but has impressed sufficiently to earn a long-term deal. Boss Gary Simpson said: "The lad has shown a lot of promise in the matches he has played for us. "He's a good defender who can play on the left of the centre of defence as well as at left-back and even left wing-back. "He's a young lad and knows some of the lads here from his time at Forest, so he's fitted in well at the back so far and even got us a goal. "He's happy here and fits our budget, so he is a good addition to the squad going forward."
