Cup concerns for Simpson

Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson again has a number of injury absentees ahead of his side's home clash with Southend in the FA Cup first round. Striker Emile Sinclair remains sidelined by a hamstring strain, midfielder Richard Butcher still has a knee injury and Shaun Brisley is out with a hip problem. Striker Ricky Sappleton is doubtful after his injured knee swelled up in the warm-up before Tuesday`s 1-1 draw at Rotherham, which forced him out of the game. Simpson has no other major concerns and defender Paul Morgan made it through the Rotherham game without any problems. Simpson took heart from his side`s display against the Millers, saying: "It was a great point and hopefully more reason for the players to really start believing in themselves."
