Brisley injury blow

Macclesfield have been dealt a blow with the news Shaun Brisley has been ruled out for up to five months with a hip injury. Brisley requires an operation after suffering the injury in Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Morecambe at the end of August. Manager Gary Simpson told the Macclesfield Express: "Shaun is struggling. He needs an operation and we're probably looking at four to five months before he's even back in training. "We thought it might be a hernia problem but the specialist sent him for some scans and the signs aren't good. Bris will be out for a while and it leaves us a bit short at the back."
