Paul Bolland is set to feature for Macclesfield in their pre-season friendly at Leek on Saturday afternoon with a view to signing for the club. The midfielder, who has made close to 400 career appearances during his career, joined the Silkmen last summer before playing 29 times for the League Two side. Bolland was initially released at the end of last season but manager Gary Simpson is keen to re-sign him after offering him a new deal at Moss Rose. "Paul is going to play for us this weekend at Leek and I'm pleased to have been able to bring him back to the club," Simpson told the club's official website. "He's a very popular lad here and we know he fits in in the dressing room, a very positive influence and we've always said we want the right sort of person as well as the right sort of player. "He is also a very experienced player and it's a good solution to the midfield problems that we have. "He was probably the hardest decision I had to make at the end of last season and now the situation is right, and we have been able to come together and offer him a deal that is right for both us and him."
