The former Lincoln forward, 35, has decided to hang up his boots after a campaign which saw him suffer a succession of niggling injuries. He has previously served in the British army and told the club's official website: "I was approached a few months ago about a role out in Iraq. "It will involve providing protection for people, I suppose in a bodyguard-type role and I am looking forward to it. "I do miss the army still and whilst I know it's still a dangerous place to be, I could get knocked over walking down the road. Having spoken to the missus we both decided it was the right thing to do. "It was probably the hardest decision I have had to make but having made it there's no looking back."
