Alexander targets happier times

The Silkmen endured a bitterly disappointing campaign last term and finished fifth from bottom. Yet Alexander believes his rejuvenated squad will pose a more serious threat in 2009/10 as they prepare to open their campaign at newly-relegated Northampton on August 8. The former Lincoln boss said: "What matters is that we go into the opening game at Northampton fully prepared and up for the challenge. "We'll have a new look squad, one that I believe will be hungrier and better equipped to compete in this league."
