Alexander likes what he sees
Ross Draper, Matthew Tipton and Colin Daniel all found the net from outside the area to reassure Alexander his side were almost ready their season opener at Northampton.
He told the club's official website: "It's always good to get a win, especially this close to the start of the season but it's more about looking at individual performances.
"These are often tough games against opposition at this level. Vics ended the season very strongly and should be very competitive next year, so it was a good test.
"I was pleased with some of the performances and it was good to see a few of them getting on the scoresheet, but I'm not going to get carried away.
"I've known for a while the side I am planning on taking to Northampton so this has been very useful in showing that the squad can perform and that we will have people on the bench down there who will be able to do the job."
